What is this event about?
It's a fundraiser featuring a 5k race and a half-mile fun run jointly hosted by Barberton Kiwanis Club and Barberton Historical Society.
Where is the event located?
The event takes place at 248 Robinson Avenue in Barberton, Ohio, in a building called the "Piggery" because it originally housed O. C. Barber's prized pigs. Please enter the parking area from 1st Street as the main driveway to the Piggery will be closed off for the runners' safety. Best route: 2nd St to Quncy to 1st and into parking.
Who sponsors this race?
Community businesses and organizations sponsor the race through donations, which are acknowledged on runners' shirts and on this web site. Please patronize these companies and thank them for their active community support and involvement!
What prizes are available?
All visitors and all runners have a chance to win door prizes and a 50/50 raffle. The first three guys and the first three girls to cross the 5K finish line will win cash prizes. The first three guys and the first three girls in each of nine age groups will receive a medal. Everyone - in the 5K and the Fun Run - will receive a commemorative Tee to signify their participation in this event.
Is there food available?
Yes, free coffee will be provided by Anna Bean Coffee Company for all attendees. There will also be some donuts, and for the runners free water and salty snacks.
How can I participate?
You can register for the race online or at the event. Join us for a fun-filled day!
Will I get a TEE if I register after late August?
Register by August 27th to be guaranteed a correctly-sized TEE in time for the race. We will have some extra TEEs made for runners registering after the 27th.
